CELEBRATING COFFEE, COMMUNITY, & CONSERVATION
Coffee is one of the world's top traded commodities, connecting millions of people across the globe.
Its journey from bean to cup has a ripple effect, reminding us that something as small as a bean, and our daily choices make a difference.

I blend coffee into my watercolors, not only to bring out warm rich tones,
but to emphasize how sustainably grown coffee can help mitigate climate change.
The Little Bean inspires children and adults to explore big topics like sustainability and global responsibility through a fun engaging story, that shows how something as small as a coffee bean can make a difference and so can you!

Coffee has the potential to be one of the most environmentally beneficial agricultural land uses,  or it could be one of the most detrimental.

Millions of people depend on coffee farming for their livelihoods. It is estimated that 80% live in poverty. Virtually all are Indigenous people of color. They toil from before sunrise to well after sunset, carefully tending to the crop.

Approximately one square inch of rainforest is destroyed for every cup of coffee consumed.
This is why I created this project; to shed light on how something as small as a coffee bean, holds the potential for a positive future for all life on our planet.

About me:
I'm a watercolor artist and I blend coffee into my watercolors not just for it's rich warm tones, but to emphasize how the international coffee community is uplifting indigenous communities and protecting wildlife and the environment through sustainability.
Many of you know me as an art director for national television commercials or maybe we met at one of my watercolor + meditation classes, or you may know me from my first book The Wondrous Cloud Forest,  which focused on one specific conservation program,

A Sneak Peek at ...
The Little Bean That Grew To Brew

"High in the hills, where sunlight streams
Sheltered by trees, a small bean dreams.
Like a babe, snug in the womb,
This wee bean begins to bloom.
Tiny roots stretch, smooth tendrils rise,
The Little Bean lifts to the  skies.
Through slanted rain, the sprout stands tall,

becoming stronger through it all...."

As The Little Bean’s story unfolds,
it becomes more playful, but it also faces challenges.
Through a series of whimsical events,
it discovers how letting go can spark new connections.
