A Story of a Small Bean With A Big Impact.
90 second video
CELEBRATING COFFEE, COMMUNITY, & CONSERVATION
Coffee is one of the world's top traded commodities, connecting millions of people across the globe.
Its journey from seed to cup has a ripple effect, reminding us that our daily choices make a difference.
I blend coffee into my watercolors, not only to bring out warm rich tones,
but to emphasize how shade grown coffee can help mitigate climate change.

The Little Bean inspires children and adults to explore big topics like sustainability and global responsibility through a fun engaging story, that shows how everyone can make a difference.
Coffee has the potential to be one of the most environmentally beneficial agricultural land uses, or it could be one of the most detrimental.
Millions of people depend on coffee farming for their livelihoods. It is estimated that 80% live in poverty. Virtually all are Indigenous people of color. They toil from before sunrise to well after sunset, carefully tending to the crop.
Approximately one square inch of rainforest is destroyed for every cup of coffee consumed
This is why I created this project; to shed light on how something as small as a coffee bean, holds the potential of great impact for a positive future for all life on Earth.

Kickstarter is a way to pre-order and helps me know how many books and reward items to have made. I set the kickstarter goal very low, to reduce the risk of not being met. Kickstarter is an all or nothing format, no fees are transacted until I meet the total goal.
The goal just covers production costs. I am hopeful that we will go beyond the goal and I will recieve some compensation for my year of research, designing, writing, painting and running the campaign.

Here's A Sneak Peek ...
"High in the hills, where sunlight streams
Shaded by trees, a small bean dreams.
Like a babe, snug in the womb,
This wee bean begins to bloom.
Tiny roots stretch, smooth tendrils rise,
Reaching up towards the open skies.
While in a home not far away
A newborn stirs to greet the day.
Through slanted rain, the sprout stands tall,
Shivering stronger through it all...."
As The Little Bean’s story unfolds,
it becomes more playful, but it also faces challenges.
Through a series of whimsical events,
it discovers how letting go can spark new connections.
